On June 2011 the orchestra of folk instruments “Dzherela” as a part of the delegation of Volyn Nastional University left for Szczecin (Poland) to take part in the Days of Ukrainian Culture at the invitation of Szczecin society of Ukrainians in Poland (chairman – Ivan Syrnyk). The delegation consisted of the trio of bandura players “Dyvo struny”, a dancing and an orchestra groups of the ensemble “Rozmay”, some solists, representatives of the international department of the university, Members of the 2nd International scientific educational-methodical conference “States and requirements of Ukrainian schooling in Poland”. The delegation was headed by the vice-rector of the university I. M. Konstankevich.
In Szczecin there is a centre of Ukrainian culture and since 1997 the Days of Ukrainian culture are yearly held in May – June. This time the concert took place in the Szczecin castle of the kings of Pomorsky. After the prologue and the dance “Volynyanochka” the head of the delegation I. M. Konstankevich, the heads of artistic groups V. F. Kucheruk and M. P. Stochanska made greeting speeches. And then the concert began. Each item of the programme was given a storm of prolonged applause. After the concert Mister Syrnyk thanked the Volynian artists for splendid hours of Ukrainian art and admited that it was for the first time that even the weather was favourable to the spending of the jubille (the 15th) celebration of Ukrainian culture.
